Q. Where do I pay my rent?
A. Bring your check or money order to the Manager's office or mail to Abilene Plaza 1 Apartments, 510 NW 2nd St, Abilene, KS 67410 so that it arrives no later than the fifth of the month. If it arrives after the fifth of the month, then it is considered late and late fees will apply.

Q. How often is the trash collected?
A. Trash is collected every Wednesday from the Dumpster. Please place all trash in plastic trash bags and tie bags shut before placing in the dumpster.

Q. How many parking spaces do I have?
A. One. Parking any place else, except in the designated parking area, is prohibited. This includes both you and your guests.

Q. May I paint my apartment?
A. No, however we can recommend a painter who will use the same brand name and color paint we use in all the apartments in this complex.

Q. There are bugs in my apartment. What should I do?
A. The exterior of your apartment is treated once each month. If a bug does make it inside, it won't remain alive for long. We recommend you purchase a can of Raid or similar product to treat the interior of your apartment. If you are experiencing a serious infestation, please submit a Maintenance Request, or call our emergency maintenance number.

Q. May I install a clothes line?
A. No, laundry lines strung outside or within the units are prohibited, even temporary ones.

Q. Do I need to do any yard work?
A. No.

Q. May I wash my car in the driveway?
A. No. You may not wash or repair cars or similar vehicles in the driveway, or any other place on the property.

Q. I am having a problem with a neighbor. What should I do?
A. Neatly write a note outlining the problem, dates of occurrence, and person(s) involved, be sure to sign and date it before dropping it by the Manager's office. Within 72 hours, the manager will investigate the complaint to determine the factual elements and decide the best approach to deal with the grievance. Issues considered as an emergency or life threatening should be addressed to the Police Department by calling 911.

Q. How often should I change my AC/Furnace filter?
A. Generally once each month, or more often if your air or heat has been running more frequently due to very hot or very cold weather.

Q. Is the complex locally owned?
A. No, but it is locally managed by an employee of Continental Management Company of Topeka. Local contractors are used as necessary in almost all situations and equipment and supplies are purchased here as much as possible. Currently, this and Abilene Two Plaza Apartments are the only two properties we manage in Abilene and we do manage numerous other properties throughout Kansas as well as some properties in Texas.

Q. Do you provide snow removal?
A. Yes, for the parking lot and sidewalks.
